More info about heat applied to knoted and tense muscles

Postby Liz Alt » Mon Dec 01, 2008 7:23 am

I writing a paper for my class about how heat directly helps knoted and tense muscles to relax. I have not been very sucessful at finding any research concerning this topic. I am using hot stone therapy along with a massage treatment after applying the hot stones to remove and relax knoted or tense muscles. Am I on the right track?
Is there any direct info related to the best way to relax knoted muscles using heat? Thank you for your help! Liz

Hello Liz:

Thank you for contacting MendMeShop. MendMeShop is an Internet based retailer of therapy devices and products specific to the repair and recovery of soft tissue injuries and related conditions.

I would highly recommend that you contact an area physical therapist, especially one who offers “hot stone” massage therapy, who can give you their professional perspective on the benefits of this form of therapy as it relates to the release of knotted and tense muscles.

If you would like further information relating to Portable Ultrasound Therapy or Radiant Heat Therapy, send me an email at mendmeshop@gmail.com and I can respond with some details or you can access our web site www.aidmypain.com.

I wish you good fortune on your paper. Sounds like a very interesting project with educational benefits to yourself an others.
