Pitching Elbow - ongoing support

Postby mboyce » Thu Nov 17, 2011 10:51 am

My son is a preteen baseball pitcher. He suffered a severe case of little league elbow this past summer and was in PT for 2 months to regain range of motion. He is back to 100% thanks to our PT and the Cold Compression Freezie Wraps and Inferno products!

My question is related to our new routines to prevent him from being injured again. I understand using the Cold Compression Freezie Wraps after pitching is normal and recommended, but can we or should we use the inferno treatment also? How often should we use? After each practice? Can it be used to warm up the elbow before throwing?

Hi Mboyce,

It is great to hear that your son is 100% healed now. You are absolutely right you want to use the cold therapy after activity to help reduce the swelling and inflammation.

Treatment with our Inferno Wrap will encourage the flow of oxygen and nutrient-rich blood (something your body needs to heal) directly to your damaged tissue. This will help decrease cell waste and toxins within the elbow. The Inferno Wrap will also stimulate the production of collagen, which is a building block for healthy tissue. While doing this the Inferno Wrap relaxes the muscles, tendons, and ligaments which feels good and helps increase your range of motion. I would definitely use the Inferno Wrap prior to activity, such as baseball. This is going to “warm up” the muscles, tendons, and ligaments to help prevent re injury to the elbow.
